I started making quilts 9
years ago. At the end of each project, I always had fabric
leftover. Not enough to use in another quilt, but too much to
throw away. So my husband had a great idea: make little baby
bonnets! Since we have no more babies, our children are 28-18, I
chose to donate the bonnets to our local hospitals for their
"new arrivals"
As time went by I expanded the
idea to include bonnets for "babes" having chemotherapy. Since
these bonnets required more fabric than my leftovers, I
committed 20% of my web site sales, to purchase the extra
supplies I needed for these special bonnets. I am proud to now
have bonnets for sale. 100% of the profits will go to making
bonnets! The non-profit, Bonnets for Babes, will separate the
bonnets from my quilting business, and allow us to accept
donations for fabric, supplies, and shipping/delivery costs.

The bonnets are available in
Michigan at: U of M Comprehensive Cancer Center and C.S. Mott
Children's Hospital, Ann Arbor. Saginaw Radiation Oncology
Center and the Seton Cancer Institute-St. Mary's Hospital,
Saginaw. Seton Cancer Institute and West Branch Regional Medical
Center, West Branch. The Jeppesen Radiation Oncology Center, Bay
City. Seton Cancer Institute-Tawas St. Joseph Health System,
where I was so excited to have delivered the 200th bonnet! All
centers and hospitals are listed below, we are adding more
daily.
We have just shipped bonnets to
the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We're on the way to
going National!!!!
My goal is to see that any Center
needing bonnets will have them.
The bonnets are machine washable
and most can go in the dryer.
